1. Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman announced that she welcomed a pet poodle named Julian in 2019, marking her first-ever dog. She also has a rescue cat named Louis and two other cats, Ginger and Snow. While Julian is her first dog, she has a passion for cats, especially hairless Sphynx cats. In an online post she said, “I did it last night, actually. I’ve decided — we already have three cats — but I’d really like a hairless cat.”
Nicole has also expressed her tender love for various farm animals, such as bunnies and fish, including one alpaca which she hosts in her home.
2. Zendaya
Artist and actress Zendaya is famously known to own a 9-year-old miniature schnauzer named Noon, which she called her forever puppy. Zendaya also joked in a Vanity Fair interview that Noon seems to like her boyfriend Tom Holland more than he likes her. Noon is frequently photographed on walks with Zendaya, and he is a loyal and adorable companion.
Noon even has his own Instagram account called @nooncolemann, with regular posts and videos. His profile description writes, “I like long naps w/ treats as a reward. Getting on my uncle Darnell’s last nerve is what I’m best at“.
3. Hilary Duff
In 2017, Hilary adopted a black Labrador named Momo, rescued by the Love Leo Rescue organization in Santa Monica. From the same place, Hilary also adopted Lucy, a rescued senior dog.
In 2018, Hilary ethically expressed her disapproval of buying a dog, preferring to opt for adoptions instead. In 2023, Hilary stated during a Kelly and Mark interview that she had recently added chickens to her family as well.
In 2020, her husband Matthew Koma and Hilary also traveled all the way to Harleysville, Pennsylvania to adopt a Saint Bernard Puppy.
Hilary also owned a Yorkshire Terrier named Jak who had been part of the celebrity’s family for almost 20 years. She remembers him as a true fine wine, expressing gratitude for the time they shared together.
Hilary has an ever-known love for puppies, starring in a Buzzfeed Celeb YouTube video answering fan questions while playing with joyful and restless puppies.
Most recently, Hilary adopted kitten Jinkx, rescued from a Trader Joe’s parking lot. This is Hilary’s second cat, after Moonstone, a Persian cat with whom she appeared in many social media posts.
4. Justin Bieber & Hailey Bieber
Justin Bieber is another Hollywood celebrity that has had many different pets throughout his years of fame. They range from dogs and cats to even more exotic animals.
Dog Oscar (small Yorkie) joined him and his wife Hailey Bieber (formerly Baldwin) in December 2018 and was referred to as their dogson. Oscar was joined by puppy Piggy Lou in October 2022, referred to as Oscar’s babysister.
In 2019, Justin purchased two Savannah kittens named Sushi and Tuna for a combined $35,000. These exotic cats are a hybrid of domestic cats and African Servals. The purchase sparked criticism from animal rights organizations.
In the past, Justin has had another Yorkie named Esther in 2015, an American Bulldog named Karma, and a dog named Todd in 2016.
Also, a capuchin monkey was gifted to Justin for his 19th birthday in 2013. Mally was seized by German authorities due to lack of proper documentation and was later rehomed in a German zoo. In his adolescence, Justin owned a pet snake called Johnson and a hamster named Pac which he donated to a fan in 2012.
5. Nick Jonas & Priyanka Chopra
Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, are proud dog parents to Diana, Gino, and Panda. Each one of them, they said, has its own unique story and personality, and they have quickly become indispensable parts of the Chopra-Jonas family.
Diana is a Chihuahua-Terrier mix and was adopted in November 2016. Priyanka decided to adopt Diana after meeting and playing with her during a BuzzFeed Celeb puppy video where she answered fan questions while playing with multiple adorable puppies. She has created Diana’s own Instagram account called @diariesofdiana.
Gino is a German Shepherd and was given by Priyanka to Nick as an anniversary gift in November 2019. Nick introduced Gino to his fans on social media and also created an Instagram account for him named @ginothegerman.
Panda is a husky shephard mix rescued during the COVID-19 pandemic in August 2020. Panda has beautiful heterochromia (two different colored eyes) and was introduced to Priyanka’s fans on the celebrity’s social media account.
6. Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is a self-proclaimed childless cat lady and has two Scottish Fold cats named Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson. She also has a Ragdoll kitten named Benjamin Buttons.
In a former Vine short video, she records one of her cats drinking from the faucet in her kitchen. “It’s alright, I don’t mind drinking tap water. The dog drinks out the toilet”, she stated on the former Vine platform.
“I have cats. I’m obsessed with them”, she also stated for TIME in 2019.
In the past, Taylor has had two dobermans named Bug and Baby, and two Siamese-Tabby mix cats named Indy and Eliehsen.
7. Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez adopted rescue poodle Winnie in 2019 and rescue caramel poodle Daisy in 2020. Winnie and Daisy are more than just pets, Selena stated. Known for their soft, cotton candy fur and playful nature, poodles make adorable pets.
The three of them get along really well, making a great and cozy house. Selena introduced Daisy at the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown in one of her Instagram lives. The two poodles bonded instantly, which is a common fact for dogs of the same breed.
Selena has had other loyal canine companions in the past, including a husky named Baylor in 2011 and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Charlie in 2017. Selena’s affection for her pets is evident in the moments she shares with them. Ellen and Portia have also opened their home to rescue chickens. One notable chicken, Sinkie, suffered a broken leg and was cared for by Ellen. Due to bullying from other chickens, Sinkie was eventually adopted by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Zac Efron has publicly led charity actions for all sorts of animals in need. His experience with pets include a heartwarming rescue story of pit bull named Maca from Bark n’ Bitches Dog Boutique in Los Angeles. Maca was almost euthanized when the shelter took her in. Zac introduced Maca to the world with an Instagram post captioned, “Hey planet 🌎, this is MACA. #adoptdontshop”.
Before Maca, the artist owned a dog named Puppy who passed away in 2016. He posted a grieving message on his Instagram account saying, “Through thick and thin you’ve always been my best friend. I’ll see you at the finish line, RIP Puppy Efron”.
In his past, Zac Efron also owned two other dogs named Chappelle and Dreamer. Most of his pets’ lives, however, are kept private, away from the paparazzi and fans.

In 2004, Anne adopted a chocolate Labrador puppy named Esmeralda or Esme. Anne credits Esme with helping her land the role of Jane Austen in Becoming Jane—after a sleepless night caring for her back then sick dog, she delivered an audition that impressed the movie producers.
In 2014, Anne adopted a Spaniel-Terrier mix puppy named Kenobi. The name is inspired by her favorite movie series Star Wars and the character Obi-Wan Kenobi.
In May 2025, the internet found out about another dog, when Anne shared that her dog Spinee underwent surgery. The dog recovered well, she updated the fans, but no other details have been shared about the dog’s story.
Fans of The Princess Diaries, starring Anne Hathaway as main character Mia, might remember Mia’s cat, Fat Louie. Interestingly, one of the four cats portraying Fat Louie in the film was Anne’s own pet, appearing in the final scene.
14. Kesha
Kesha is a passionate animal lover and advocate, and every one of her pets is a rescue. She currently serves as a Global Ambassador for the Humane Society International for animal rights awareness. Admirably, Kesha is also involved with The Magic Mission, a charity organization founded by her mother, Pebe Sebert, focusing on ending animal overpopulation and abuse.
In May 2019, during The Humane Society Gala, Kesha dedicated an award to her dog named Jett after he passed away.
In December 2013, Kesha and her mother rescued a dog named Winston from the woods of Tennessee. The same year, Kesha also adopted a dog named Dolly Parton, after the iconic singer, but sadly passed away in July 2023.
In May 2011, singer Kesha and her mother adopted a dachshund named Bacon. Bacon eventually moved in with Kesha’s mother, Pebe Sebert, after bonding with her mother’s dogs more than Bacon did with Kesha’s.
In 2009, Kesha rescued a dog named Magic from the streets of Honduras. Magic was found in grave condition and was lovingly taken care of.
Kesha and Pebe have also cared for dogs named Bobo, Ellie, Murry, and others, many of whom were rescues.
Kesha owns a Siamese cat named Mr. Peep$ who was rescued from an alley behind a strip club. The cat features in her music video for “Crazy Kids.”
In September 2014, Kesha also adopted a Maine Coon named Charlie. She has a second Maine Coon in ginger and white named Queso who is often called Ginger.
In October 2013, Kesha rescued a cat named Mr. Fluffy Pant$, as demanded by her fans.
Most recently, Kesha’s Persian cat named Carl sadly passed away in January 2025.

Athlete Serena Williams is a huge dog lover as well.
In 2017, Serena adopted a Yorkshire Terrier named Chip. His name is inspired by fellow tennis legend, Christopher (Chip) Rafael Nadal. Chip often features in Serena’s TikToks.
In 2004, Serena adopted a Maltese named Lauerlei who sadly passed away in August 2022 at the age of 18. Lauerlei loved playing with chickens and was described as the smallest yet toughest little pup.
In 1999, Serena adopted a Jack Russell Terrier named Jackie Pete.
